On Sunday, August 24, all participants and accompanying persons are cordially invited to the welcome reception at the conference venue at I. Physikalisches Institut, Universität zu Köln, Zülpicher Str.77, 50937 Köln. Use your free public transportation ticket to get to the venue. Doors will be open starting at 16:00 o’clock.
Upon arrival you can register at the registration desk and collect a booklet with the program as well as other items we prepared for your participation. Please bring a small bag for these items because we will not provide a conference bag for sustainability reasons.
Later in the afternoon finger food and beverages will be served to welcome you after your long travel. During the refreshment a jazz group (Triologisches Quartett) will entertain us all with enjoyable music.
At 19:30 o’clock Stefanie Walch-Gassner, will introduce us into the science of the host institution. Stefanie is professor for theoretical astrophysics at the I. Physikalisches Institut, head of the sponsoring collaborative research center (CRC1601) and chairperson of the German Astronomical Society. Her talk will guide us into the fascinating science of star formation.
